Looking back at 2024 and Ownership Capital Lab’s launch
Just a few short months ago—on Labor Day of 2024—we launched Ownership Capital Lab. The progress that we will continue to make over the course of 2025 was catalyzed in 2024 by:
- Critical field conversations that set the stage for more forward motion;
- Partnerships that lay the groundwork for unlocking more capital through deeper investor engagement;
- Assessment of innovative structures to overcome investment barriers; and
- An overall momentum that forecasts exciting things for ownership investing in 2025 and beyond.
Read about some of our 2024 highlights below.
More quietly, the Lab also made progress assessing two approaches which hold opportunity for bringing more capital into EO: A bond vehicle to address the need for senior debt alongside the existing EO funds, and the Reinvestor SBIC (a new “fund of funds” SBIC license through the SBA). More to come on these and other Lab projects in the year ahead.
We have big plans for 2025, and welcome you to join us in this journey!
